Shayne Ward has been reflecting on his budding career as his la-*test*-('") single hits the shelves.
Stand By Me is the X Factor winner's third track and he has high hopes for it in the charts.
He said: "I'm very proud of the song and I'm looking forward to seeing how well it does."
Over the last few months, the singer became known as the first artist in history to perform at Downing Street.
On meeting Gordon Brown, he said: "He seems a really cool fella. He did say he watched me (on the show) and I'd done very well, so it was nice."
Shayne's also been immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds, an experience he described as "strange".
"It was very bizarre because it was Louis (walsh) who phoned me up and said I have a surprise for you and it was to have a waxwork done, and it was really strange," he admitted. "But I'm chuffed to bits with it."
The singer will be touring in early 2007, kicking off in Dublin on January 21.
