Within days of tickets going on sale for a summer open-air concert by chart-topping girl band, Girls Aloud at Holkham Hall, almost five thousand had been sold and the demand has even surprised the promoters.
Organisers are confident that with this rate of sales a further 5,000 will be snapped up so that the concert on August 31 will be a sell-out.
The first of two concerts this year at Holkham - the next evening will see legendary band, Status Quo taking to the stage - Girls Aloud will appear with X-Factor winner Shayne Ward and singer/songwriter Jamelia.
Concert producer David Heartfield commented : “This is a unique and different line-up for a summer open air concert and with all three acts having a high profile they are a popular choice for ticket sales. We knew they would be a strong seller but did not expect sales to take off quite so quickly. We feel confident that this will be a complete sell-out for Holkham.”
Each evening's concert will end with a stunning firework display.
